Masterpieces of Art - Parsons School of Design

This paper is an in-depth examination of Giovanni Bellini's painting "St. Francis in the Desert," in which I evaluate the artwork while juxtaposing and contrasting it to other classic works of art. It provides an original perspective on the painting, allowing readers to discover all the concealed faces and implications.

Thesis Statement:

Giovanni Bellini's St Francis in the Desert is a famous historical painting that is and ought to be regarded as a masterpiece for four primary reasons: it was created by a master, it exhibits extraordinary attention to detail, it is mesmerizing and enigmatic, and the lyrical symbolism explodes off the canvas. Additionally, there is much to be learned from Bellini's masterwork.
